Clint Mansell

Legendary film score composer Clint Mansell discusses the challenges of creating soundtracks for films such as Requiem for a Dream, Noah, Moon and Black Swan.

Over the past 15 years Clint Mansell has emerged as perhaps one of the most acclaimed film composers of his generation, his eerie, expansive scores layering dozens of movies including all of Darren Aronofsky's projects. Drawing on rock, minimalism, chamber music and electronica, Mansell's unique compositions have seen him join forces with artists as diverse as Kronos QuartetMogwaiPatti Smith and Trent Reznor.

The discussion will be facilitated by Philippa Hawker. Phillipa is a writer on film and arts for The Age and Fairfax Media and former editor of Cinema Papers.
