Melbourne Festival, Creative Victoria and Yarra Trams present

Community Day

MELBOURNE ART TRAMS

Celebrating the third year of a project between Melbourne Festival, Yarra Trams and Creative Victoria, the Melbourne Art Trams Community Day brings together all eight of this year's art trams as they take to the tracks for a glory lap around the City Circle.

Watch, ride and enjoy Melbourne’s moving artworks as they travel around the CBD and check out great local artists (including Playwrite, Whitaker, The Mae Trio and The Senegambian Jazz Band) across the City Circle network, with festivities all finishing up at Fed Square.

Featuring both established and emerging artists, Melbourne Art Trams is a vibrant celebration of a vehicle that has become an emblem of Australia’s premier arts city and here is your chance to see them all in the one go. This year’s creative focus, conceived in association with MPavilion, invited artists to take inspiration from Melbourne’s architectural landscape and design a tram that responds to how architecture defines the character of the city. The winning artists will be at the viewing platform at 1pm in Fed Square, overlooking their trams.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD

Be sure to get you vote in for your favourite tram by 2pm as the winner of the People’s Choice Award is announced at 2.30pm on our social media.
