Philip Goad

Professor Philip Goad

Professor Philip Goad is Chair of Architecture at the University of Melbourne.

An acknowledged expert on Australian architecture, he is the co-editor of The Encyclopedia of Australian Architecture (Cambridge University Press, 2012). He wrote on the life and architecture of Guilford Bell, designer of the Seccull House (1972), in the 1999 monograph on Guilford Bell edited by Leon van Schaik. In 2014, he was a member of the curatorial team for the Australian exhibit at the International Architecture Biennale in Venice. He is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Arts and Humanities.
